On a related note, can anyone explain to me why we're still in Afghanistan? It's a primitive shithole full of primitive religious nutballs. Nuke it or ignore it, I don't care which, but quit sending American kids over there to die pointlessly. We're not going to turn them into Americans -- or even into reasonable people -- so let's quit pretending we're making some sort of difference. Get out now and leave them to wallow in their own shit, as they've been doing quite happily for thousands of years. The Soviets finally figured this out; why can't we?
With tensions at an all time high in Afghanistan following the Koran burnings, the urination video, and the killing of 16 civilians, attention is now falling on a long line of "Infidel" apparel and gear.
Exhausted from how they feel they're being perceived, troops have taken to wearing patches and carrying items that label themselves infidels, and offer translation in local dialect.
Good for them.

I have to agree that it's time to abandon the savages to let them continue their relentless tribal warfare. It's a 5th world craphole with no strategic or fiscal value to our country. Of course I my judgement may be affected by the fact that my son just shipped out for there today.
