Soft Tyranny

Ya know, for the children.

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – San Francisco has become the first major U.S. city to pass a law that cracks down on the popular practice of giving away free toys with unhealthy restaurant meals for children.
San Francisco's Board of Supervisors passed the law on Tuesday on a veto-proof 8-to-3 vote. It takes effect on December 1.

As with all draconian attacks on our individual freedom, the Socialist progressive overlords wrap it the cloth of doing it for our children. Incandescent bulbs, salt, sugar, low flow toilets,...ad infanitum, all done for the future of our children. The only thing they cannot do for the children is stop spending.
Now, McDonald's is about the last place I choose to go eat, but I think once you walk in that door, you know what you are getting into, but it is your CHOICE. This country was founded on that simple word. Choice. You can choose where to live, what to eat, how to pray(or not pray), and what to eat, but the choice is yours. The scary part is that many people want those choices taken away from them for the security of someone else making the "big" decisions for them.

It's gotta be something in the water supply. That much stupid can't exist naturally in a single city.
