MYFOXNY.COM - An off-duty detective with the Suffolk County Police Department sensed something fishy when the 'police officer' that pulled him over went back to his SUV and drove off.
According to police, Victor Alfaro-Marquez, 35, of Selden, was driving an unmarked, Mercedes-Benz SUV with flashing lights and sirens when he stopped Detective William Zambito at 4:30 a.m. on Monday.
When Det. Zambito told Alfaro-Marquez that he was a police detective, Alfaro-Marquez allegedly said he was an agent with the Drug Enforcement Administration.
The Selden resident was arrested later that evening at his home on Ruland Road.
The Mercedes-Benz he was driving was impounded.
Alfaro-Marquez was charged with Criminal Impersonation in the second degree and was released on bail.
Guess he never grew out of playing cops and robbers as a kid.
