Unarmed Robbery

The Double-Digit Gang strikes! Double-digit I.Q., that is...

Despite his disability, 18 year-old John Smith, whose limbs end in stumps just below his elbows, managed to lead police on a terrifying 160km/h car chase, a court heard.

Smith, who cannot dress himself and lives at home with his mother, was one of four youths charged with raiding a jewellery store at a shopping centre near Rainham in Essex, east of London, last December.

Smith pleaded guilty in Maidstone Crown Court and was given a 12-month youth custody sentence, suspended for two years. A judge also ordered he wear an electronic tag to monitor his whereabouts and be put under a six-month curfew.

I think that's a little harsh; the guy seems pretty armless to me.

Funny, I thought he would be head and shoulders above this kind of thing.
