Poorly Made in China
John Derbyshire reviews Paul Midler's book Poorly Made in China.
Quality fade, IP arbitrage, supply chain manipulation... the list of Chinese sins against fair-market economics is depressing. "After reading this book," says Mr. Derbyshire, "you will find yourself thinking carefully before putting 'Made in China' items into your shopping cart."
I've always been strongly in favor of free trade, but it is increasingly apparent that such is not our relationship with China. While 'Made in America' campaigns often amount to little more than opportunistic jingoism, I find myself agreeing with Mr. Derbyshire's sentiments concerning Chinese retail goods.

I realized the unfair trade with China a long time ago. I don't try and find the Made in USA label anymore because the government and unions have chased those jobs away, but I sure do look for it to be made somewhere OTHER than China. i will even pay a little more. We sell our country one pair of Nike's at a time.
