Star Trek Remastered

Last year, Fundy had linked to the CBS site where all of the original Star Trek episodes are available for web stream viewing. Now there are "remastered" versions of some episodes available. The most noticeable change is that the episodes have been mastered from the original film into true high-definition. Glorious.

Slightly more controversial is the fact that some of the special effects have been redone using CGI: space battles, phasers, etc. Judging from what I've watched thus far, however, none of the acting or plots have been changed, (fuck you, George Lucas). The differences are quite noticeable in the space scenes from my favorite episode, Balance of Terror.

In any case, I can live with those changes-- certainly more easily than I can deal with the filthy abomination currently in theaters, (and fuck you too, J.J. Abrams).
