We are hopefully seeing the death throes of the UAW. If not, I'll just start buying German and Japanese again. I'm tired of paying a bunch of biological robots $40/hour to make sub-standard automobiles.

The workman ship for Detroit has been improving and is comparable with many of the foriegn made cars, the issue is that cars built in Detroit have $2k's worth of UAW benefits attatched to them. So a comparable car costs two grand more, or it has to have 2 grand less in bells and whistles, or they have to sell it at such a low profit margin they lose money if they have a slow down and go out of business ( or try and get a big fat check from the government to support this losing proposition)
