Gimme-gimme-gimme

Cat fight:

Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson told Congress on Tuesday that the administration remains firmly opposed to dipping into the government's $700 billion financial bailout fund for a $25 billion rescue package for Detroit's Big Three automakers, no matter how badly they need the help.

Translation: "Those ill-gotten gains are for my bestest buddies in the bankin' biz. Hands off, union slimeballs!"

It's like winning the lottery. I've read stories about people who win the lotto, then are suddenly beset by every gapped-toothed imbecile who can trace their lineage to the family dog. In this case, the UAW would be the grasping trailer trash and the banking biz are the jumped-up hillbillies.

I would like to remind all involved that the $700,000,000,000.00 in question belongs to the taxpayers of the United States. One day -- perhaps very soon -- we will get fed-up with watching our hard earned money going to support overpaid fat cats. When we decide to stop paying, it's gonna get pretty bleak for the aforementioned overweight felines...
