Family Asked Obama Not to Wear Son's Bracelet
Apparently, the family of the dead soldier whose name Obama wears on a bracelet (a name he had trouble remembering during the debate) told him to stop wearing the bracelet.
Barack Obama played the “me too” game during the Friday debates on September 26 after Senator John McCain mentioned that he was wearing a bracelet with the name of Cpl. Matthew Stanley, a resident of New Hampshire and a soldier that lost his life in Iraq in 2006. Obama said that he too had a bracelet. After fumbling and straining to remember the name, he revealed that his had the name of Sergeant Ryan David Jopek of Merrill, Wisconsin.
Shockingly, however, Madison resident Brian Jopek, the father of Ryan Jopek, the young soldier who tragically lost his life to a roadside bomb in 2006, recently said on a Wisconsin Public Radio show that his family had asked Barack Obama to stop wearing the bracelet with his son’s name on it. Yet Obama continues to do so despite the wishes of the family.

Once again, the Obamessiah shows that it is not about you or me, or helping the American people. It is about his ego and doing whatever it takes to get elected. All those Obamaniacs are in for a rude awakening if he gets elected.
It's a free country, one that this soldier died defending. So let Obama wear it; since when does ANYONE have a say in whose name pops up when you buy one of those bracelets?
My problem is not with Obama wearing it, actually; he's made it clear that he is at least as hostile to the military as Bill Clinton, and possibly as bad as Jimmy Carter. His hypocrisy is obvious, so that's kind of a non-issue to me, (since I also happen to think those bracelets are pointless exploitation just by their existence, but that's another subject entirely).
No, my problem is that the dead soldier's mother gave it to Obama to wear, then she turns around and asks him not to wear it because he's using it to political advantage. Well... DUH! He's a politician. What the hell did you think he'd do with it, put it in his keepsake box and cherish it forever? Even worse: "[She] doesn't even want to force the issue of telling Obama to stop exploiting her son because she wants to see him win the election."
Stupid broad. Remember that her vote this November will count exactly as much as yours will... and that should terrify you.
If you'd check your facts, you might actually find the Associated Press story that states the mother of the son was ecstatic (and quoted her saying that) that Obama was wearing the bracelet.
Do conservatives ever read anything other than just what they want to believe?
^^^^
"This afternoon the Associated Press was at last able to contact Tracy Jopek, mother of Sergeant Ryan David Jopek, the KIA soldier on the bracelet that Barack Obama is using on the campaign trail. Ryan's Mother is confirming that she gave the bracelet to Mr. Obama, but is also confirming that she asked him to stop using her son's name on the campaign.
Apparently, Jopek's mother did NOT say she was "ecstatic" about Obama continuing to use her son's name on the campaign trail even after she told him to stop. The AP had to change its headline to reflect the truth."
Do liberal news wire organizations ever bother to check the facts (or actually talk to the subjects of their wires) before they write articles catering to the biases of their slavering leftist nitwit drones? Apparently not.
Begone.
So the Wall Street Journal has today become a liberal press?:
"Tracy Jopek confirmed to the Associated Press that she asked him to stop wearing the bracelet, although she allowed she was "satisfied" with how the candidate mentioned it during Friday's presidential debate."
Check the dates on your facts before you criticize others. Your quote comes from a story 3 days ago, while the AP is from two days ago.
I believe if you would check the facts, she said that she did not want to make a big deal about it because she wants him (Obama) to win. She did say that she does not want him to wear it or to refer to it in any speeches, but is not making a stink for the reason stated above.
Face it, you think he is different, but he is just like any politician and will use a story ( or prop) if he/she feels it makes a compelling story to sway voters. It has been going on since Og felt that his fishing story would win over the cave dwellers to his side, and will keep going on long past our deaths.
