"Hassled" Hippies
The WaPo has published this hysterical (in more ways than one) scare piece about poor little eco-leftist government leeches employees having to give up their organic foods. Stop and listen to the whine for a minute:
She finds it a "huge hassle" to buy everything at one store, as opposed to her previous habit of going to multiple stores to buy specific (presumably organic) products. I don't think she understands what "hassle" means.
Did you notice the header at the top of the article? "GLOBAL FOOD CRISIS"
Nah, that's not fear-mongering yellow journalism. Not at all. Of course, we may end up in a "national food crisis" if we don't stop converting half our yearly grain yield into hippie gas. There's more oil available to be drilled in American territories than we've thus far used in the entire history of the country, but the leftists, eco-freaks and anarchists want us to turn our food supply into fuel. There's a scientific name for that: "stupid".
The last thing Marti Tracy wants to do on a Saturday is clip coupons. But last month the 34-year-old Bowie resident felt she no longer had a choice. She'd already given up organic meat and decided to buy organic milk only for her 2-year-old son, not for the whole family.
Tracy and her partner also stopped buying the cereals they like in favor of whatever was on sale; stopped picking up convenient single-size packs of juice, water or crackers; and, in order to save gas, stopped going to multiple stores. "I find the whole thing a huge hassle, but I've reached a tipping point," said Tracy, a government human resources specialist who is pregnant with her second child. "Clearly, I'm not unable to feed my family. But I just can't feed my family the way I'd like to feed them."

Hummmm.... This pregnant, lesbo can't get her organic milk? I'm surprised she's not pumping her own for the "family" with her "partner".
It seems to me that some focused teaching of history, say the great depression and WWII, should bring some of these whiners into some concept of how bad it can actually get and therefore how well they have it. If history bores them, then maybe they should study some other cultures such as third world countries where people still stave on a regular basis, if someone doesn't kill them for their cardboard house first.
stave, starve, whats the difference
Welcome to reality....hey what's that smell?
