Electrical Energy Storage Unit

A Texas company claims to have developed--and will soon put into production--a superior alternative to chemical-based batteries. It's a hybrid ultracapacitor with more than twice the energy storage density of lithium-ion batteries.

Looks promising if they can make it work on a commercial scale. I'll reserve judgment until I see successful applications in consumer products.
