Cure for Cancer?

A possible simple cure for many types of cancer.

The pharmaceutical companies can't get their claws into it, because it's an un-patented and non-proprietary substance. It can therefore be manufactured and marketed at dirt cheap prices.

I don't necessarily advocate tighter governmental control of pharmaceutical companies; that sort of heavy-handedness almost invariably leads to no good. But seeing them take a financial right cross to the chin would certainly raise my spirits.
