Paper Tigers

As the submitter of this article puts it, "the Brits are completely losing it":

Magistrates have fined a man £200 after finding him guilty of putting paper in a recycling sack for bottles and cans only - breaking council rules.

Swansea Council enforcement officer Martin Lemon said: "There is a recycling scheme available in which paper can put into a green recycling sack and glass bottles and tins can be put into a separate sack."

"The fly-tipping team have responsibility for collecting waste that has been incorrectly disposed of," he said. "The teams are trained to search through any offending waste that they have found to look for evidence of its origins.

"My colleague informed me that he had opened a green recycling sack and that he found a piece of junk mail with Mr Reeve's name and address."

Mr. Lemon is obviously ignorant of the fact that recycling is nothing more than a political boondoggle.

If recycling paper and glass is so important, why is it bums only grab aluminum cans from the garbage to recycle? There’s always plenty of glass and paper.

I stopped recycling paper and glass awhile ago based on that observation, and my neighbors kids think I’m evil. Now it’s just a matter of time before the government give me a $350 fine for throwing my beer bottle in the garbage can.

The point being made is that it's amazing that the twits in UK don't seem to have anything important enough on their plate to prevent them harrassing this poor guy. Personally the only recycling I do is to take a couple of bags of aluminum cans to the scrap dealer once a month. Usually come out with $10-12. LOL

I thought the point was that Kenny is evil???

I'm so lost.

OK, they think I'm evil because I ran over their slip 'n slide with my lawn mower.
Or it could have been that time I borrowed some nuts and bolts from their trampoline.
Anyway, their opinions aren’t without merit.
