Flame Retard

Gasoline ≠ detergent. In case you were wondering.

A man was injured by an explosion after he put gasoline instead of detergent into a washing machine, police said.

The 49-year-old man had what appeared to be second-degree burns on up to 5 percent of his lower legs. Paramedics took him to Regions Hospital.

Second degree? Over only five percent of his lower legs? I've had worse burns from the muffler of a motorcycle.

The paramedics should have doused him in the remaining gasoline and finished the job before loading him into the ambulance.
