Two Bullets and a Letter

A convicted rapist wins the lottery and then buys a house in an upscale neighborhood. Quite reasonably, the neighbors threaten to kill him:

"You are a dirty, vile rapist and residents of this estate don't want you here.

"We have hired someone to harm you."

Seems reasonable. I'd chip into the "contractor" fund, if I lived in that neighborhood. Hell, for a very reasonable fee--say, time and material plus ten--I'd do it myself. But here's where it gets a bit confusing for a simple, straight-forward person like myself:

Hoare was jailed for life at Leeds Crown Court in 1989.

His catalogue of crimes included one rape, two attempted rapes and three indecent assaults.

Hoare bought the winning ticket in August 2004.

"Jailed for life...in 1989." The life of what? The mouse he had in his pocket at the time of sentencing?

Note to British cops: get used to honest citizens sending such death threats--and, hopefully, following through on them. Since your "justice" system is the laughing stock of the Western world, citizens will increasingly be forced to create their own justice. And is that really unreasonable behavior on their part, in light of the fact that a convict sentenced to life in prison in 1989 becomes a millionaire living in a posh neighborhood fifteen years later?

Personally, I hope they dump his severed head on the doorstep of the local constabulary.
