Global Bias

Two professors--both vegetarians--have decided that people who eat meat are causing global warming.

What are the chances they'd come to that conclusion? Must be well-nigh astronomical.

It's probably safe to say that both [Eshel] and Martin figured the vegetarian diet would come out on top, but demonstrating that wasn't easy.

And that, folks, is what passes for the scientific method in modern "research." Find a cause, and then bend over backwards to support it.

These two congenital idiots don't even understand the underlying principles of middle school science, yet they get doctorates, research grants, and publication in the mainstream media outlets. American education at its finest.

When they looked at only carbon dioxide emissions associated directly with energy consumption, they came up with the vegetarian diet far less damaging to the planet than the others.

I suggest these two "scientists" should personally lead the charge by eliminating their own intemperate carbon dioxide emissions.

Great I see another round sin tax coming, first my SUV and then my T-bone steak, soon they place air sampling machines in our houses to see in parts per million the amount on gas we release to the environment.

Oooops! I just gave them another idea for a grant!

WTF was that?
Charismatic predator fish require long ocean journeys, and are not efficient to catch, while anchovies remain closer to shore and can be easily caught and harvested.

One word, Phuckin’ Lazy, sums that up. My @ss is going to work a little harder and eat Grouper. I’ll be kind to the environment by not harvesting/ordering/eating a fish out of season, but that’s the line. Dam anchovies mine as well eat spam……

You have to remember, Kenny, that these academics are descended from the same strain of cavemen who turned their nose up at culinary progress thousands of years ago.

While everyone else in the tribe was cooperating to spear that mastodon so they could all eat Mammoth Burgers w/Cheese during the long winter, the ancestors of the modern ivory tower whiners were back in the cave complaining about mammoth overhunting and muttering about how berries and grubs were good enough for grandpa.

We thought we'd wiped them out, but alas, it appears as though a new crop has sprung up during the recent absence of worldwide wars and plagues. Maybe we'll get lucky and there'll be a deadly plague come along which only germinates in those with tenure.

If they are so concerned about CO2 emissions, then does it make sense to recommend that we eat things that convert it back to oxygen? Doesn't eating animals (which exhale CO2) actually DECREASE CO2 production?

Its a moot point anyway, as the level of CO2 in the atmosphere has an inconsequential effect on global temparature. An interesting article can be found here.
