After taking fire from all sides, the TABC has decided to "temporarily suspend" their ill-conceived program of arresting drunks in bars. Here's what they had to say for themselves:

"We understand that everything has room for improvement, this included," [commission spokeswoman Carolyn Beck] said.

She said most of those arrested in the sting operations had been "dangerously drunk" and might have tried to drive if TABC agents had not busted them.

"Most of..." "Might have..." Hey, I know! Why don't we just arrest everybody, since we'll all do something wrong eventually. I bet I'll break the speed limit on the way home this afternoon. I'm a threat to society; toss me in the slammer and throw away the key.

Idiots. Brown-shirted, jackbooted, idiots. Fortunately, they were stopped. This time.
