Preposterous PETA Posturing

If you can stomach it, here are two links to PETA sites, wherein you will find the latest absurdity from that band of wackos. To wit, comic books telling kids that their parents are murderers for wearing fur and going fishing.

I must agree with Jimmy, the contributor of these links: freedom of speech only goes so far. I'm willing to give a lot of ground on First Amendment issues, but this is over the top.

We own a dog and keep aquarium fish, both of which are very well treated, (spoiled rotten, in point of fact.) But I see no duplicity or contradiction in eating fish or wearing animal hides around them. More to the point, however, big fish eat little fish, and dogs will eat any small critter they can catch and kill. They're animals! (And news flash for PETA, so are humans.)

These PETA folks are starting to show signs, as an institution, of mental traits for which most people would be... well, institutionalized. I think it's about time to pull the plug on them.

(Hat-tip to Jimmy V. for the linkage)

This is so far off the deep end if it were comparable to an ocean depth it would have imploded already.

I’ve never felt sorry for an animal that was killed so people can eat. Do I think it’s ok for someone to be cruel just for the hell of it? Of course not, very few people do. We live on a planet with an eco system that involves one creature praying upon another to survive. Technology may one day make this system obsolete. Until that day comes people will have to kill animals to survive. That’s my opinion on the matter.

Like many protest groups, PETA likes to wine about something without offering good solutions. They should be focusing all their money and time to developing better man made alternative foods. As I’ve said many times, work on a solution instead of complaining about the problem. Even if it’s only a problem in their minds, it would still be more productive than handing out pamphlets to people who aren’t interested.

I’m a proud member of the Filet and Release non profit group for ending hunger. My point is Kurtd Cobain himself said “It’s ok to eat fish cus they don’t have any feelings.” So take that and hook it.

here is a good link for Tampa Bay Cheerleader pixs to make up for those links.
