Expiration Date

NASA is planning how it's going to continue wasting my tax money. I'm glad to see this from them, however:

NASA is encouraging private industry to submit proposals to carry cargo and crew to the space station.

Great. Here's my proposal:

Step 1) Abolish NASA.

Step 2) Park everyone who ever worked for NASA in an unemployment line--and leave them there. They'll be far more useful in such a position, and won't be screwing anything else up.

Step 3) De-regulate space and watch the horse race as private enterprise expands faster than Kirstie Alley's waistline.

Step 4) Flip off the Chinese whatevernauts as our interplanetary corporate cruiser sails past them at 10% of lightspeed.

And yes, it really is just that simple. As an analogy, try to imagine what would have happened if the government hadn't allowed any privatization at all in the American West, but instead tried to build every single building, railway, road and inn on the taxpayer dime...
