Bill wants better employees
Think Bill is having trouble finding good help these days? Regardless of his motivation, I think he is essentially correct. In his speech, he concentrates on minority groups a bit much. I believe it’s for a practical reason however. In today’s social environment, you have to hire a mix of people or be branded racist. This is bad for public relations and business. Also, business likes stable societies. Bill would be more than happy if everyone in the world had spare cash to throw at his business. Maybe he’s greedy but how nice of a world would it be if that were the case.
The point he makes about student to teacher ratio is very good. Also, I like the part about the size of schools. When a school gets too large it tends to lose focus on the individual student. They become faces in a crowd. Yes, it costs money to build more schools and hire more teachers. The alternative is what we are heading for.
In order to pay for this, more private organizations are going to have to get involved. Like it or not this is a capitalistic country. I’m quite happy about it personally. All the money cannot come from the government. It’s inefficient at best.
