CPU Decoder Ring

The Tech Report has a handy little chart which breaks down processors by manufacturing and functionality statistics. This makes it much, much easier to research and select a CPU when building a new system.

I have yet to understand why Intel and AMD thought it necessary to change a signification system which functioned perfectly and replace it with the confusing muddle it has become. I suppose one should never underestimate the potential depths of stupidity that can be plumbed from a boardroom.
