Perfectly Hideous

Autovia, an auto industry publishing house, has combined what they perceive as the most desirable qualities of electric cars to create a design concept for what they are calling the perfect electric car. This is what they came up with:

I would first like to take a moment to congratulate the AMC Pacer on being dethroned as the Ugliest Automobile Ever Concieved. It's been a long time coming.

To the people who came up with this... thing: stick with publishing. As automobile designers, you're the eqiuvalent of a natural disaster.

The seventies and early eighties were truly a dark time in car design. The Pacer. Pinto, Mustang II! Big Bulky Square behemoths rolling down the highway that leaked, broke, and rusted away by the thousands. They were the corduroy bell bottom pants of the auto industry. Hopefully those times will never raise their ugly heads ever again.

Gah! You mentioned The Car Which Shall Not Be Named! Heretic!

Seriously, if you go to any Mustang forum today, that's what they call the Mustang II. What an awful car. And now Ford have gone and named an electric SUV thing the Mustang Mach E. Marketing people never learn.
