Felicitations From The Swamp

Sorry about the lack of posts this week. As most of you know, I and several of our contributors live in the Houston area. Being as Houston is built in a barely-above-sea-level swamp, it floods if two cows piss on the same rock. This little event was different only in the fact that the bands of the storm tended to "hover" over certain areas, meaning that some areas of Houston flooded, while others (such as my neighborhood) stayed well above the water line. Heck we never even lost power -- a fact for which I am profoundly grateful, which anyone who has experienced Houston in August can sympathize with. I managed (barely) to get fifteen gallons of gas in my jerry cans for the generator during the pre-storm chaos, but that wouldn't have lasted long. Wasn't needed, fortunately. Now it'll go into the bike.

Anywho, thanks to those who called or messaged with your concerns. The biggest trauma suffered was stir-craziness from being trapped in the house for a week. At least I got to put a sizeable dent in my Netflix queue. Love the new Defenders show. Oh, and Rogue One was the first Star Wars movie since 1980 that didn't suck. Amazing.

Going to cut out of the office here in a few minutes and get my butt to a liquor store. The supplies on that front got stretched a bit thin this week.

Everyone have a great Labor Day weekend. Expect normal blogging services to resume next Tuesday.

Jacqueline and I have been watching Daredevil. Quite good. We'll finish that before moving on to Defenders.

Glad to hear you made it through unscathed. We were lucky also.
