Colossal Cat Casualties

Cat serial killer mystery grips French seaside resort after 200 kitties found dead

An inquiry has been launched into the mysterious deaths of more than 200 cats at a seaside resort in southwestern France, in an apparent mass poisoning.

Psychosis has gripped the small resort of Saint-Pierre-la-Mer in the Aude after scores of kitties, both stray and ones from good homes, have been found mysteriously dead in recent weeks - most with mysteriously blue tongues. Their deaths have been blamed on everything from rat poison to cannabis.

Residents are in shock after finding large numbers of cats in their death throes on streets and in containers. In one small area leading to the beachfront, some 50 lifeless felines were picked up in the past week alone.

Hrm. Haven't heard a peep from Vizigoth in several weeks. Anyone know if he's been vacationing in southern France?

Qui moi mon ami? I mean, who me? I've been no where near France this century. It appears to me that the rats have grown tired of the cats and executed a devious plan entailing poisoning the mice and then having the mice run in front of the cats. It's ingenious really, it gets rid of their competition for food and of their predator at the same time. If only the French could learn from their smart rats. They could give knives to sunni and shia practitioners of the religion of peace and go through their neighborhoods with loudspeakers of each cursing the other on a recording, and walla, problem solved. Think of the suddenly available free housing, clean up jobs, mortician jobs, grave digger jobs, etc... As the rats are finding out, its a gagnant-gagnant, as the French rats sometimes tell me. err, over the phone... I mean, when I get calls from them that are a wrong number, you know... Oh, another wrong number with a +33 phone code, got to go! bonjour mon rat ami!
