Hail to the King, Baby

Want fries with that?

Belgium's royal family says it has contacted the fast food chain Burger King over an ad that invites people to choose between the country's King Philippe and the company's mascot.

In related news, Belgium has a king. You can file that away in the Useless Knowledge About Useless People category of your brain.

So, why are they all up in arms over this non-event?

A spokesman said the use of the king's image must be approved by the royal family, but they had not been asked. "Since it is for commercial purposes, we would not have given our authorisation."

Oh, good grief. Get over yourself.

Also, you just opened yourself up for one hell of an internet meme storm. Have fun trying to control THAT use of your image.
