Why?

Italy's navy recovered 217 bodies from a migrant ship that sank off the Libyan coast in April 2015 in what was the tipping point of the Mediterranean migrant crisis.

Seems to me that's like counting dead ants after you poison the bed. Who cares how many there are? That problem is solved; move on to the next ant bed.
