GLOBAL COOLING: Decade long ice age predicted as sun 'hibernates'
A team of European researchers have unveiled a scientific model showing that the Earth is likely to experience a “mini ice age” from 2030 to 2040 as a result of decreased solar activity.
But wait, I thought global cooling, I mean global warming, I mean climate change was caused by evil corporations and humans not being responsible with Mother Gia? Surely with all that we are doing ( or not doing depending on your big government view) the earth should be getting hotter?
Their findings will infuriate environmental campaigners who argue by 2030 we could be facing increased sea levels and flooding due to glacial melt at the poles.
However, at the National Astronomy Meeting in Wales, Northumbria University professor Valentina Zharkova said fluctuations an 11-year cycle of solar activity the sun goes through would be responsible for a freeze, the like of which has not been experienced since the 1600s.
From 1645 to 1715 global temperatures dropped due to low solar activity so much that the planet experienced a 70-year ice age known as Maunder Minimum which saw the River Thames in London completely frozen.
As with most scientific announcements, this is a HYPOTHESIS just as is climate change. Now, don't tell the new religious zealots called climatoligists this, because climate change is a CONSENSUS DAMMIT! We all know a consensus means that it is settled science, and stop asking stupid questions or trying to prove, or disprove our findings. That's just mean and you must hate people and the planet. Ignore the fact that our models have been inaccurate, incomplete, and we have fudged the data on occasion, just give us more money and power and we will "fix" this pesky global cool/warm, I mean climate change. To quote our second president

Well, since you mentioned it... yeah, I mostly do hate people.
The difference, of course, is that unlike the enviro-nazi misanthropes, I do not wish to see the entire human race wiped out in favor of Mother Gaia. I'd settle for a mere 95% -- the aforementioned hippies among that number. They may, however, hang about as zombies if they wish. We'll need lots of moving targets to keep the rifle skills sharp, and I won't kill any lower animals except as necessary for survival.
Hrm. I sounded very serious there, didn't I? Wonder why...
