Map Your Surname

Free search site which shows you the percentage and distribution of the population sharing your surname based upon 1880 and 2014 census data. You can start at the world level and drill right down to individual counties. Unsurprisingly, most of the Mauneys are concentrated in three counties in North Carolina, (where my dad's parents lived before the war), though they had started to spread a little across the South by 1880 -- except for one traitorous bastard who went to New York. We don't talk about those people.
