Not again...

Apparently not satisfied with the way they raped the Alien movie franchise in the 1990s, Hollywood has decided to do it again:

Director Neill Blomkamp and star Signourney Weaver confirmed during an interview with the UK's Sky Movies that they are working together on a new film in the "Alien" series. They also revealed that the film will fit into the series before the unpopular "Alien 3" and "Alien: Resurrection" sequels.

I like Sigourney Weaver as much as the next red-blooded American male. She was particularly drool-inducing in Galaxy Quest with that blonde wig and low-cut shirt. Yowsah! But I digress... My point is that there's obviously a big difference between Weaver '86 and Weaver 2016. Michael Biehn (Corporal Hicks) is also getting up there in years. I just don't see how this is going to work. But it gets worse:

Blomkamp, the South African director of sci-fi films "District 9" and "Elysium", first signalled his dream of an "Alien" movie by posting concept art on Instagram earlier this year. He developed the film in his own time

Those are two of the most blatantly Left-wing, anti-capitalist, anti-white movies it has ever been my displeasure to encounter. If he brings that same political activism to his Alien reboot -- and there's nothing in his history that would indicate otherwise -- it will be a disaster. I didn't think anyone could possibly do more damage to the franchise than Scott did with that abomination called Prometheus, but it appears I was wrong. To be fair, Prometheus wasn't an overtly political movie, it was just depressingly misanthropic. I got the distinct impression while watching it that all Ridley Scott wanted for Christmas was a warm bath and a razor.

At this point, I'm pretty well convinced that the most entertaining thing modern Hollywood could do for me is cease to exist.
