Net Neutering

Look, so-called "net neutrality" is a really bad idea, mkay? Big corporations can sometimes be annoying, but they respond -- eventually -- to marketplace demand. The FCC does not.

Let me put in that in big letters for our less-than-bright "progressive" cousins: THE FCC DOES NOT RESPOND TO MARKET PRESSURE.

Never once in United States history has a government entity provided a service in a superior fashion to private entities. Government bureaucracies will always become self-sustaining, inefficient and tyrannical. If you've any doubt of that, go to city hall and try to pull a building permit. Doesn't matter which city hall; they're all the same.

While this may seem a wonderful idea to all of the under-informed hipsters right now, in 20 years their children will be in the street protesting against heavy-handed government regulation of the internet. So goes the eternal cycle of "progressivism": React Now, Think Later.
