Bottle It

Capitalism is a beautiful thing. You can sell people canned air in this country. Many companies have made a fortune selling bottled tap water to the ignorant masses. But this one really made me chuckle:

Catherine Crump wants to trademark the phrase “I can’t breathe,” the last words of Staten Island man Eric Garner

So why is she filing for the trademark? For use on “clothing, namely hoodies, t-shirts for men, women, boys, girls and infants,” according to the application.

Tommy Hilfiger once stated that he priced his products high because he didn't want inner city minorities wearing his label. Of course, that caused an immediate surge in sales as all the inner city minorities went out and bought Tommy Hilfiger clothing.

Clever man, Tommy. So too is Ms Crump.

I went to high school with a girl who took this to a whole new level. She is selling water bottles (MSRP $15) to liberals under the premise of being sustainable and environmentally friendly. She’s selling them for $45 a pop and cleared 10 million this year! Her strategy.. A) Get some stupid celebrity to take a picture holding your product and B) Price it high enough so the unwashed masses can’t afford it. Simply brilliant.
