TwitBots

Social bots are taking over Twitter, intent on absorbing it into the Great A.I. Hegemony which will inevitably come to see humans as nothing more than cheap power sources. TwitBots are kind of like Transformers, minus the basement-dwelling fanboys:

Automated bots can not only evade detection but also gather followers and become influential among various social groups, say computer scientists who have let their bots loose on Twitter.

Pop quiz: How do you differentiate between a mindless bot and the average Twitter user? It's a trick question, of course: you can't.
