Theme Tunes

You may go here to find the song that was number one on the charts on the day you were born and several anniversary dates. I feel that I must warn you, however, that disappointment is likely to ensue. Observe my results:

The day I was born the chart-topper was Honey by some cat with a really bad haircut named Bobby Goldsboro. I'd never heard this piece of "music" before and really wish it would have remained that way. What a sappy, over-sung, underwritten piece of acoustical flotsam that was...

My 18th birthday: Greatest Love of All by Whitney Houston. I'm feeling a bit nauseous now, thank you. The bright side of this one is she's dead.

21st birthday: I'll Be There For You by Bon Jovi. Oh dear God please make it stop!

Mine weren't to bad. Birthday was Blue Moon by the Marcels and 21st birthday was I love Rock and Roll by Joan Jett. None of the other birthdays were total losers either, but none were AC/DC, Led Zep., or Ted Nugent, so could certainly have been better. However, Jarhead clearly has the upper hand in bad birthday songs.

What? How did I get Beethoven's 5th?
Actually, while not exactly on the very date, but a few hours later, we begin with Paint it Black, Rolling Stones. Then, following trend: Time after Time, Cyndi Lauper and then You Keep Me Hangin' On Kim Wilde. Quite entertaining. I also picked up You're The One That I Want from "Grease", Ebony and Ivory, and Funkytown to round it out.
Now, if we could only choose which charts the database chose songs from, that would be better.
