Unmanned

Footage of the first launch and recovery trials of the Northrop Grumman X-47B combat drone, conducted aboard the USS George H.W. Bush during summer of last year. Grumman designed and built the F4F Wildcat and F6F Hellcat, two of the most successful American carrier aircraft which saw action in World War II. I can't help but wonder what those engineers from the 1930s would think if they saw this thing. I imagine it would be something like: "No pilot? Well, that should make things go more smoothly."
