Bite me... er, them

BiteLabs claims to make salami out of meat which is vat-grown from celebrity tissue samples -- people, in other words, though in the case of Kanye West "people" may be pushing the definition a bit too far. High-functioning chimp, maybe.

In any event, the site is obviously a hoax, but to what end? Well, the people at TIME magazine actually engaged in some real journalism for once (which is even more shocking than cannibalism) and found out. The short version is that it's a start-up company looking to create and market vat-grown meat products; they're using the celebrity cannibalism hoax in an attempt to garner attention. Success, apparently.
