Thursday Tunes

Eddie Jobson is an English artist whose name you probably don't recognize, but I can almost guarantee you've heard him play. At various times he was a keyboardist and/or violinist for several progressive rock groups, among which were Jethro Tull, U.K., and Yes. In 1985, he released an all-synthesizer album named Theme of Secrets. To this day I consider it one of the best examples of the (at that time nascent) genre.

One of the stand out pieces from that album is Memories of Vienna. It starts slow, but give it a couple of minutes. It's a hauntingly beautiful piece with a unique melody and is wholly original.
