Mechanical Sensei

Who do you think runs the day-to-day operations of Amazon? A highly-paid COO? A team of middle-management suits striving to become execs? Harried and overworked line supervisors? No, no and no. It's a computer algorithm called Mechanical Sensei. It makes every decision about operations, shipping, purchasing, stocking, and arguably even capital expansion. In a sense, Amazon is not so much a company as an artificial intelligence. It is consumerism distilled to its most efficient and profitable.

If that sounds like dystopian sci-fi, welcome to the future.
