Frickin' Laser Beams...

The DoD intends to test aerial defense lasers on fighters and bombers in 2014. As in "mount them on" not "shoot them down with..." At least I hope that's the plan, but with the DoD you never really know until somebody presses the button. When you get so many dollar signs and stars (as in generals, sir) involved, things tend to get a bit crazy. If it goes badly, you end up with something like the Sergeant York anti-aircraft vehicle, watching in horror (or amusement) as it blows up a shithouse in front of half the brass from the Pentagon. Oops.
