Thursday Tunes

It'll come as no surprise to you that there aren't very many swing bands performing today. The style has mostly receded into history or been subsumed into other genres. One of the few extant swing bands is Ron Sunshine and Full Swing. They have regular gigs and concerts and are steadily creating new fans of old standards.

Their unique pieces are also pretty special, often combining swing and blues with elements of zydeco. This is one of my favorites: Coffee and Reefer. (I meant the song, but it works both ways, I suppose.)
