Thursday Tunes

Rub a little fungus on your fiddle and voila! Instant Stradivarius! Well, sorta...

Speaking of fiddles, here's Brahms' brilliant take on gypsy violin music, Hungarian Dance No. 5 in G Minor. I've adored this one since I first heard it years ago, as it combines the mystery and romance of gypsy music with Brahms' unparalleled talent for short, sharp symphonic pieces of unique character.
