Before the SCOTUS decided to abandon our Constitution, I wondered if such a ruling might cause a movement for secession. After all, more than half the States were involved in the suit. At this point I doubt that the ruling will be enough on its own, but if 0 wins re-election we might well end up living in interesting times...

Indeed. Read up on the political situation and court decisions in the 1850s which led to the secession movement, eventually boiling over into the Civil War. The parallels with the last half-decade are quite disturbing.
