Hum?

Mysterious 'Hum' Only Canadians Can Hear Is Debated

The cities of Windsor, Ontario, and River Rouge, Mich., are separated geographically by only a river, but when it comes to one highly annoying noise they are worlds apart.

That noise, described as a low-pitched rumble, has rankled citizens of Windsor since last year, prompting hundreds of complaint calls, leading one resident to create a Facebook page and spurring a senior aide to Canada's foreign minister to visit the city to investigate.

Testing conducted by the Canadian government determined the sound, known by locals as the "Windsor hum," came from the area of Zug Island, a 600-acre, steel industrial site on the U.S. side of the Detroit River, the Canadian Broadcasting Corp. reported.

The only problem? The nearly 10,000 residents of the Detroit suburb have no idea what their Canadian friends are talking about, or hearing.

Ok, I thought we all agreed we would not field-test the Anti-Canadian Psychological Attack Device until it was nearer deployment readiness. It's all aboot surprise, eh?

Actually this is from our newly founded ministry of annoying noises, nanotech division. We programmed nano devices to only affect the hearing of people in Windsor. Very successful test wouldn't you say? We were going to induce a silly walk but someone else already has a patent.

You are all wrong.
It's the sound of the millions of Canadian feet running for the US to receive timely and adequate medical care.
We can't hear it because we're deafened by the sound of millions of Mexican feet on the other border.
