Geek Alert - D&D 5th Edition

Never thought I would see an article in Forbes about D&D. So Hasbro/WotC are trying, so they say, to repair the damage wrought by their 4th Ed release by reaching out to the gaming community to solicit feedback & ideas for a new 5th Ed.

Here's my recommendation: re-publish the 1st Edition AD&D rules, complete with original artwork and a searchable PDF file, and then forget you ever decided to tamper with it in the first place, you money-grubbing twats.

Truth be told, if they released a leather-bound edition of the first books with original art and rules, all of geekdom would come forward and drop many a GP down on a set, with my lemming ass being one of the first in line.
I have to say that is one of the benefits and curses of having a job that provides some disposable income. I dispose of it on the crap I couldn't get as a child. Lightsaber? Check. Enterprise pizza cutter? Got it. Leatherbound reprint of first edition D&D books? Well, Im waiting WOC, just tell me where to send the money.

Hmmm...Leather-bound 1st Ed...now THAT would look good in my gaming bookshelf.

Agreed about disposable income. It is only unfortunate that there has been an inverse relationship between the amount of disposable income and the amount of time to enjoys it. THAT just SUCKS.

Struggling to find the min/max balance on that one.
