National Public Retards
Juan Williams, the former news analyst (whatever that means) for the ultra-leftist National Public Radio, talks about how the organization operates:
That's about as good a description of modern American liberalism as I've heard. Short form: liberalism = elitism.
NPR has been busted and exposed for the institutionalized bias everyone knew was there, and already the lefties are crying foul. Everybody except the hard Left saw the bias; but radicals by their nature tend to think it perfectly normal that a "news" show makes political statements which consistently agree with their world view. What is even more amusing is that the lefties assume conservatives agree with everything on FOX. It's endemic to the radical mindset: if you don't agree with me, you must be The Enemy.
Black and White. Light and Dark. Everything is polar with them, and there are no shades of grey. I've had a little fun over the years watching liberals' eyes spin around when I calmly inform them that I am a conservative atheist. They simply can't fit that into their orderly little construct of Brilliant Left and Stupid Right. If you don't fully agree with all of their viewpoints, you're automatically deemed incapable of rational thought.
Elitism. NPR is full of it, and they are a mirror for the typical American liberal.
āIām just saying, you listen to this guy [in the expose video] and the way everybody who has a non-liberal orthodox point of view is somehow a bad person and you say, you know what, these are people who are anti-intellectual. They do not want to hear and engage in an honest debate.ā

I am constantly amused that some "liberal" friends of mine criticize "Faux News" for being biased, then post articles from the Huffington Post on their Facebook pages. Of course, if I make any comments that do not agree with them 100%, I am accused of "attacking" them no matter how politely worded or factual the response. Actually, now that I think of it, the more facts I use the more offended they get...
Liberals - You keep using that word... I do no think it means what you think it means.
True, Banduar. The modern American left is so far outside of the classical definition of a social liberal, they may as well be on another planet. Under that classical definition, you and I are both much closer to being liberals than any of the American left who claim the appellation.
Maybe that's why they now prefer to be called "progressives"... which is grimly amusing, since their stated policies and goals are anything but progressive in nature. Aggravating that problem is the fact that, as you point out, anyone who tries to engage them in a debate about their methods is instantly tagged with some unflattering and ad hominem label: racist, bigot, denier, obstructionist, etc.
That's the problem with elitism: it blinds the elitist to any possibility that his methods may not be best practice for achieving his goals. They love to ridicule religious people for their "blind faith," yet they practice blind faith in their every thought and action.
