Do you remember Der Wienerschnitzel? They had one in Pasadena, TX back in the 70's in one of their trademark unique drive-thru A-Frame structures. It went out of business during the Jimmy Carter years, but at least according to Google Street View the building is still there. A new Der Wienerschnitzel has sprouted up in N-W Houston sans the drive-thru A-Frame. So apparently the franchise still lives.

Sweet! They got 'em some tasty wieners, there.

I noticed that Taco Bueno is also moving back into the area. There's a location in the Woodlands. They used to be all over this part of the country, and I was a Taco Bueno hound during high school. Two Big Burritos was a common snack in the evening after track practice.

Taco Bell ran them out of business. How Taco Hell ever won that battle I don't know, because Bueno was leaps and bounds beyond that Sysco swill the Bell shovels out the window.

There was one on Gessner over in Spring Branch. Google street view shows the building is still there but has been bastardized over the years.
