Cool, but what happens when a burst of electromagnetic radiation from an explosion (EMP) or sudden fluctuation magnetic field takes the system down? Better have a Haynes or Chilton close by Jarheads err…. Gear heads.

I would assume it is ray-shielded. Most modern military electeonics are.
