Open Source Bomb

What a great idea:

The manufacturer of a hydrogen car unveiled in London on Tuesday will make its designs available online so the cars can be built and improved locally.

Cottage-built vehicles powered by compressed hydrogen... Nope, nothing can go wrong there.

I'm waiting for the first time one of these things is involved in a high-speed collision and a 5,000 psi hydrogen cylinder detonates in the middle of a city, turning a busy downtown block into a Jackson Pollock painting. And how about the support infrastructure? Instead of hydrogen fueling stations, why don't we just plant a 2,000 pound bomb at alternating major intersections and have one blow up randomly every few months? It'd be far easier and yield the same results.

Safe and efficient my ass.
