In Rememberance

Lance Cpl. Blaise A. Oleski

Hometown: Holland Patent, New York, U.S.

Age: 22 years old

Died: April 8, 2009 in Operation Enduring Freedom.

Unit: Marines, 3rd Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, N.C.

Incident: Died while supporting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan.

I will not be here Memorial day to post, but felt that it still needed to be done.I chose to Honor LCpl Oleski since he is a fellow Marine, but this goes out to all who lost a friend, or family member.

"I feel how weak and fruitless must be any word of mine which should attempt to beguile you from the grief of a loss so overwhelming. But I cannot refrain from tendering you the consolation that may be found in the thanks of the Republic they died to save.

I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom.
