Better Read Than Red

Illiteracy abets ignorance, which in turn breeds servitude:

Two out of three Britons have lied about reading books they have not, and George Orwell's "1984" tops the literary fib list, according to a survey published on Thursday.


I now see a pattern congealing from the chaos, as the ghost of Mr. Santayana sighs and fades slowly away.
