Mid-east problems

I am sure many of you have been hearing about the dust-up going on between Hamas and Israel. The gist of the whole thing is that there was a cease fire, then Hamas starting shooting rockets at Israel and Israel responded by blowing up Hamas govt. stuff. Now I am not sure where you fall on this argument, but to me it is pretty plain cut. The Palestinians wanted their own country, so they got it, then they voted Hamas as the controlling party. Hamas then started attacking a neighbor, which seems to me to be an act of war. I think Israel has every right to go in and kill every Hamas member and supporter until Hamas surrenders. The only thing they seem to understand is violence and sometimes violence is the only answer.
My personal opinion is that many of the Palestinian leadership are nothing but a bunch of racists and hate the Jews and Israel because they are Jews. Put them in white sheets and hoods and you have the KKK with rocket launchers. They would continue to try and kill Jews and destroy Israel even if Israel gave them everything they wanted. Oh wait, in the Palestinian constitution it calls for the destruction of Israel, so I guess they can't give them everything they want. The claim goes back to the British mandate of Palestine of 1916.
You can read about it

Here

A summary is that the whole Mid east peninsula was part of the Ottoman Empire prior to WW1 and was divided up after and split into several territories and were to be managed until said territories could form their own government and be autonomous. The Jews were at the conference and asked for a piece of the land. Israel formed and it has been on since.Oh, and contrary to what some may think, they did not load a bunch of Jews on a boat and dump them on the Palestinians doorstep and give the Palestinians eviction notices. They were already there, they just wanted a Jewish state.
Now I have heard the argument that this land was the Palestinians first and the Jews have no right to it. On that I have to say the "Jewish" state has been around way longer than the Arabs have been in the mid-east. Roman records show the area being occupied by Jewish kings way before people of Arab descent even can lay claim to the area. I have also heard that much of the territory is ill gotten gain from wars and should be given back. With that logic, we should give back everything West of the Louisiana purchase to Mexico, and Florida to Spain. Although, giving California back to Mexico doesn't sound half bad.
